Last night was the Grade 6 parents wine and cheese night, hosted by us. It was all about a new wine called Boujourlais Nouveo and cheese.
I had swim club after school so I came home with 2 friends (1 from Blue Pyjama). We were told that the videophone wasn’t working and were asked to go outside in the cold to be the welcome wagon.
Once a substantial amount of people had arrived, we went back upstairs and started to play “Spy on the big people”. This was achieved by having a laptop on the room of the event with a Skype video call on and walkie talkies placed strategically around the room.
What a laugh. This weekend we are the party house. My sister has her birthday party on Sunday!
- How will we ever manage?
Yesterday, we went on a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig walk around the 11th arrondissement (11th suburb) of Paris. We were doing a walk recommended in our Michelin guide book. For part of the walk we were walking along an old railway line that has been turned into a garden.
We stopped off at a playground that just so happened to have some table football (the one with the round ball). Just there was no ball. Sister (my evil little sister) was violently jerking the metal sticks that the plastic players rest on very fast backwards and forwards. My little finger ot in the way and was pinched in the hole. I looked at my finger and it was blue!! In every public place in Paris there is a small water fountain and I quickly placed my finger under the cold water.
Everything was fine in the end and I got a bagel as compensation.
We were walking past the Eiffel Tower yesterday and we saw a cluster of pigeons. Several of the pigeons were peking at the ground. On closer inspection they were actualy digging holes. I quickly got my dad to take a photo of it on his phone. This is what we got:
Yesterday night (as you will have seen from my Mini-update) I want to a Halloween party at a friends house. It was mostly for the little kids but it was still fun. Everyone at school is really friendly.
When we got back to L’s (my friend who I run Blue Pyjama with) we did a light show with some glow sticks. I think it worked really well.
Well for one, i’m sorry that I haven’t written sooner – but we wont dwell on that.
Now I go to the *School name removed for privacy* and I love it. It is very much like a high-school; you go to the teacher, not the other way around.
I’ve made good friends and with one friend I’ve created a software company, Blue Pyjama. We make software for Windows and Mac. Go have fun!
Last week, in French class, I had to do a speech about me (What I like, my family, New Zealand…). It was really difficult but I think that I did OK.
It’s now the school holidays. Yesterday I was over at my friends house and today we’re making Indian Butter Chicken. Tomorrow we’re going to a chocolate fair. So far it’s been great.
Again, sorry that I haven’t posted for ages – I’ll try to post regularly now.

Oops! I for got to add the video of me practising my French speech (sorry, but it’s in French)
Tomorrow we’re of to the Loire Valley and I don’t know if we’ll have internet. If we do, I’ll try to do a post. if not, I won’t try to do a post.

So, you want the be able to know when there’s a new post on my blog and find it a hassle going to www.sebastianinparis.wordpress.com everyday. I present to you RSS: RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to be alerted (and be able to read) new things from sites around the web, including my own.
I’ve put together a PDF so that you can discover the wonders of RSS
As Listeners to my podcast will know, yesterday we went to Disneyland Paris!!!!
It was really, really, really cool. During our time at Disneyland I went on 3 rollercosters, I was upside-down 4 times and I had my picture taken with Eeyore and Pluto. [see photos]
We also decided to become annual members – so now we can go as many times as we want!
As we walked around Disneyland I noticed the our surroundings changed – you walk into “Fantasyland” and you hear princess music and you’re surrounded by castles, in the same way, when one walks into “Frontierland” there is Wild West music and cowboy huts.
At the end of our visit, I got a Disneyland Paris T-Shirt which I really like.
And so here we are, 3 floors up and 400m away from the Eiffel Tower. We arrived here on Saturday and since then we (Dad, sister and I – mum is at Language school) have been doing stuff. Stuff.
Monday:
We were 13th in line but then an EVIL ticket man told us that the stairs were closed and that we had to go to the other door (wit a cue of about 25 people). Grrrrr! Other than that minor setback, all was good on our Eiffel Tower visit.
Today (Wednesday): Today we went to the Louvre. We saw the Monna Lisa (of course) and also adventured into the Egyptian section (which is 2 floors!). All was great.A slightly quieter day and I’m sorry but al the days seem to be blurring together so I can’t remember what we did – again, sorry.I was woken up bright and early by sister as we wanted/needed to beat the crowds at the Eiffel Tower.
So it seems that we’re settling OK. I’ll keep you posted of all future stuff.
